It is not possible to install Impress only, you have to downoad and
install the total OpenOffice. org 2.0.
But don't despair, your specific problem is easily solved. If you are
sharing a document with someone who does not have OpenOffice, but has
Microsoft Office instead, simply save your file in a Microsoft format.
File > Save As ... then where it says "Save as type:", select
"Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP (.doc)". Then the person with Microsoft will
be able to open it.
Another (actually, better) alternative, if they only need to view it
and/or print it but don't need to edit it, is to export it as a PDF
file. File > Export as PDF... That way, no matter what software they
have (as long as they have a PDF viewer such as the free Adobe Acrobat
Reader), they can open it and it will look exactly like you want it to
look.

Is it possible to download Impress only or must I download the
complete office 2.0.
The reason I ask is that there seems to be a compatibility issue with
sending a (Word) document to someone and they can't open it because
instead of a .doc it is sent in another format which is why I am asking
if it is possible to pick and choose the downloads à là carte.
Thanks
