With any document you can always right click on the file and chose
Open With and then select MS-Word from the list of programs.
Although if I understood your original post correctly MS Office had
been removed from your machine. I would suggest that you give Open
Office.org another shot -- your really won't miss MS after a few days.
If you go to http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/index.html
and download the Migration Guide, take a look through the whole
thing, but the Chapter on Word and Writer might be a big help.
