I upgraded to OpenOffice version 2.0 and confirmed that the issue still
remained (this time I tested it on NT machines). (If Bob1 uses
Microsoft Office to open the file then close it, then Bob2 uses
OpenOffice 2.0 to open the file, then when Bob3 opens the file it still
reports Bob1 as having the file open when in fact its Bob2.)

The issue that I submitted (#55858) for this problem was recently
closed as invalid. Unfortunately I have been unable to find out how to
get the locking to work, given that the developer that closed the ticket
is correct and the locking is handled by the OS. Does anyone have any
advice? Thank you,

Robert Volke

Hi Robert,
Can you please upgrade to a released version of OpenOffice.org and try
