No Idea. If you say novell 6 delivered desktop you probably mean you are connected to a network which has zenworks installed. It now depends on how security and policies are setup. If the admin has done things correctly you probably won't have the credentials to install openoffice. If you can install the software, then it shouldn't have any impact on performance though.
