I don't have any experience with 64-bit computers myself (unfortunately :-),
but somebody on debian-openoffice list (archives are available through
http://openoffice.debian.net) mentioned that they had to make chroot
environment with 32-bit environment (there are even apparently problems
even with compilation of pure 64-bit OOo, but really go to that list
archive, I do not remember it well).

And remember, once -- to an interested party -- is fine. Anything
