If you want to always save in a particular file format, go to the Tools menu,
go to the very bottom of the menu, click on Options... , then open the
Load/Save and click on the General option, then go to the lower right hand
corner, and click on the Always save as list. This will give you whatever
file format option you wish to make default. If you want a file format that
works equally well/badly on all Word Processors, choose RTF.
