If you go to format and line numbering you will get the line number along side the line you are typing on -- not sure that is the same thing but it might help.

I think the question you need to ask yourself is if this feature is worth several hundred euro's or dollars or whatever you need to pay MS with. If it is then pay the money, I doubt that any the folks who offer support on this list would tell someone not to buy MS office in a situation where it was a better tool for the job and the user had the funds to purchase it. Speaking personally, I would hope that a user would select the product that best met their needs, rather than trued to force a fit and then gripe about the "missing" features.

Please be specific as to what you want to output. Looking at an OOo *.odt file, I find the following: "page 11 15/24", OOo Page style, 100% (Zoom
factor), STD, HYP, and level 3. Which of these are you talking about?
