To make a long story short here is the sequence of events in point form.
1. Last night, attempted to run the wizard for a dictionary installation
2. My PC locked up (keyboad did not respond -> stupid windows!)
3. Rebooted
4. Any attempt to launch OpenOffice would result in another lock up
5. Used "Add/Remove" to uninstall OpenOffice
-> rebooted
6. Downloaded new open office binary
7. I double click on it and it doesn't launch
-> rebooted, same thing
8. Downloaded the other windows binary (/w JRE)
9. Same response (including reboots)
10. Couldn't find a nice handy logfile anywhere....
11. Confirmed that validity of both downloads by using MD5SUM.EXE (as
per the instructions on the webpage
When I attempt to launch any of the binaries, no error message pops
up....I double click and nothing happens. I uninstalled winrar and
reinstalled it to see if I could reconstruct this problem with another
app. however it succeeded just fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions (other then formatting and installing
linux :P )?
