As you are not subscribed to the list you might have missed this reply

This could happen if you have no language specified. To find out if this is
the case, highlight some text and go to Format > Character > Font. There will
be a dropdown list for "Language". See what you have selected. If it is
"None" then that is definitely your problem. Click the arrow on the dropdown list
and select whatever language you want to use.
