1. One suggestion is to change the font and see if that has any effect. I've used Times new Roman on a winXP install (OOo2.0) and it all prints fine. If it doesn't you'll have to supply some more details : What version of windows are you using? Can you print out other things ok? What printer do you have? 2. This can be confusing for everyone. You have to make sure that you have set the default language to be one that you have a dictionary for. Have a look at the user guide (http://documentation.openoffice.org/) under the section for 'spell check' for more assistance.
