There could be several reasons. Potentially your ISP doesn't allow
large downloads or something along those lines. The 'corrupt' message
is because the download hadn't finished (total downloaded file size
~70MB)

I would suggest one of two things :
1/ get a CDROM distribution of OpenOffice
(http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/)
2/ use a download manager to obtain the whole file (have a look at the
above page for more information on that as well - BitTorrent).
