How do i make power point veiwer my default p.p. veiwer ?
I can't answer your questions about OOo opening your Powerpoint files yet (because I haven't installed OOo yet myself; waiting on info before choosing a language version), but I can help you change your file associations. You didn't specify your OS, but you talk like a Windows user, so I will assume that. The following instructions are for Windows XP, but if you have a different version, you should be able to figure it out. (Also, my terms are translations from Japanese Windows - the words may be slightly different.) In the file "explorer" window ("My Computer", or whatever you call it), in the Tools menu, choose Folder Options. There should be a tab labeled File Types. Click it, and after it's done cataloging all your file types, scroll through the list to find the type(s) you care about - Powerpoint slideshows are PPS, and Powerpoint presentations (the kind you can edit in Powerpoint) are PPT. Select a type, and the current associated Application will appear below. To change it, click Change and choose your Powerpoint Viewer application. This procedure is useful not just for this situation, but anytime you are not happy with the default application used to open a particular type of file. I hope this helps.
