When opening the file, you need to specify the file type as CSV before
opening it, otherwise like you found, it will open in Writer.
Go to File > Open, then for file type, select "Text CSV (*.csv,
*.txt)". Then open the file and it will open as a CSV file.

Subject: [users] Loading a csv into OpenOffice Calc without .csv
extension
Does anyone know how to load a CSV file into
OpenOffice Calc from a console without the .csv
extension? Here's what I've tried..
no .csv:
ooffice2 -calc ~/Desktop/sampling_data
with .csv:
ooffice2 -calc ~/Desktop/sampling_data.csv
With no .csv I get the ASCII Filter Options and loads
the file in Writer. With the .csv I get Text Import
options and it loads into Calc no problem.
Thanks,
James
