Well, I guess you set me straight about "being wrong". While, technically,
it may not be a scam ... that's for folks smarter than I, such as perhaps
you (seems there's always one or two in the crowd with a "Ya', but ...").

Alright, consider this. There are three lines the country firmly believes
in. They are not necessarily accepted by the remainder of the world. The
first one is: there is a sucker born every minute. The second one is: buyer
beware. The third one is: the persuit of happiness. That is mostly
interpreted as trying get rich fast, usually at the expense of others. If
you do not do your homework, if you let them convince you without checking
up, if you just fork over, than you simply scam Yourself, and perhaps you do
indeed not belong to the folks smarter than thou. In my days those things
were taught in school. Unfortunately, the powers that are have convinced the
majority of a previously quite smart a population, that schools (except
Sunday schools, of course, of any religion) are not really necessary, just
believe US (not as in United States, but as in Them in Power). The results
are becoming more blatantly clear by the day. Be most happy that they didn't
get you for Micro$oft prices! Meanwhile, I have a nice bridge for sale...
