In all fairness, Fred, top-posting is more natural when replying to a
personal e-mail. In such cases, you know what you're talking about and
replying to, etc. It only becomes an issue on newsgroups and mailing
lists where you find yourself enmeshed in long threads.
So rather than assuming that a top-poster is an ignorant dweeb or
whatever else goes through your mind, it doesn't hurt anyone to exercise
patience and charity, and assume that the poster is new to mailing lists
and newsgroups.
Honestly, if I had a nickel for every time someone started *****ing
about top-posting or not trimming properly or whatever...
