Personally, I prefer to read as little as possible from previous posts,
especially because I never read an answer without knowing what went on
before (somehow it wouldn't make sense). I find the whole history quoted
anywhere in a reply disgusting and absolutely unnecessary. I guess it is
included simply because the software people use quotes everything written
previously by default (maybe they haven't heard about the CTRL+A, DEL
sequence -- in Windows --, or they simply don't care, or maybe both). If you
have to say something about certain points of a previous post, I guess it is
easier to reword it in half a sentence than "re-edit" or copy/paste it from
the original in most cases. I really can't imagine a situation when I'd
include the whole of a previous letter, or even full sentences. I find that
reading a post full of quotations is horrible.
