Once you have installed JRE (Java), you also have to let OOo know that it is installed. To do this Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java. Click each one of these in sucession. If OpenOffice.org has a "+" in front of it, click the "+" to open the sublist containing Java. When you click Java, the program will begin looking for where you installed Java. After a period of time, your Java program should be listed in the window. If it is, click OK. If nothing appears, you probably have not installed the JRE (Java) program.
