Sounds strange. I've not had any corruption problems with .ods files at all.

One thing you can do it to unzip the file and have a look at
'content.xml' (since .ods is compressed xml files). You should be able
to see what is in the file... You may even do a search for what is
causing the error and see if that makes a difference.

If that fails, I'm happy for you to send me the file (off list, and if
its not sensitive) and I'll see if I can assist.
