There are several ways to do this. I suggest that you have a look at http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/spreadsheet/gantt_pm.pdf which does demonstrate how to switch what is on which axis. You might also benefit by having a look at the other documents available from http://documentation.openoffice.org/
