I was about to install OpenOffice...
Zonealarm warns that OO wants to start Internet Explorer ! duh
I will not allow Internet Explorer to run on my computer.
Can I install OO without IE or should I delete the install file and
forget it ?

Hazen,
Sounds like you have MSIE as the default browser. OOo works with Mozilla
Firefox as well as other browsers. If you are using Windows XP, open your
Control Panel and clikc on the add/remove software icon. You will see the
Set Program Access and Defaults button on the left. Change to non-Microsoft
or custom to add the browser of your choice. Then try the reinstall of OOo.
