thanks for opening the issue. I wanted to comment, but I did not find a 
comment button....

I think instead of "Format > Object > Line" it shoudl read "Format > Object 
Properties > Line"

But what is worse: That is not only a documentation bug, that is a bug in 
functionality. The line was on invisible, but Impress shows in slide show 
mode, the bogus lines shown here

They are not visible in "Normal" mode, even if is use a 400% magnification.

As a workaround, I enable the lines around the chart, it is not exactly what I 
wanted, but it looks somewhat better...
