A hint I was given early on is to set up a message filter with Delivered-to contains moderator and redirect this mail to a specified Moderated subfolder. That way all the not subscribed are in one folder.

Not sure who you are addressing here, but I think you missed the flow of
this thread.
My point is entirely in keeping with the thread, I was tagging CPHs comments. quote: [/But you can always tell which mails have been moderated by looking at the "Delivered-to:" field you will see "moderator"./] endquote
The thread had moved on to "why some posts from
non-subscribed addresses have the [Moderated] tag and others don't", not
how to identify posts from non-subscribed addresses.
I was merely obviating the need to delve into the headers in a routine manner.
I have mail headers
displayed so I can see the "Delivered To" status at a glance.
Depends on what email client you use!
Your hint does raise a question in my mind. If you filter the moderated
messages into a separate folder, how do you link them back to replies
from list subscribers? Not important, just wondering.
Only the OPs mail goes into that folder all replies go into my users folder. If we are keeping the original message alive it doesn't present a problem.

Hi Dave,
"[moderated]" is only in the subject line if the poster clicked on a link similar to mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] . Anyone else who does not use this link will still be viewed by the moderators. However unfortunately they have no control over puttin "[moderated]" into the subject line. But you can always tell which mails have been moderated by looking at the "Delivered-to:" field you will see "moderator".

I hope that this helps.
