[users] Tutorial for Impress (Powerpoint conversion)

I am brand new to Open Office and have several Powerpoint seminar 
presentations that I want to convert to Impress.  I ptinted the "Convert 
Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation to Open Offiice Presentation" tutorial 
written by Mario Debono on April 4, 2004.  I can follow his instructions 
until I get to #6, then I have not been able to find the buttons of the 
tutorial, such as Extras.  I suspect that there have been some changes 
in the software since he wrote that tutorial because it is almost two 
years old.  My question is, what are your suggestions for finding 
tutorial manuals that might be up to date with Open Office?  Some titles 
I might find at Boarders or other walk in bookstores is probably what I 
am looking for.
