You can open an *.odt file because OOo will open *.odt file. The person
who receives this file must have a program which opens *.otd files in order
to open it. (MS Word will not do this.) You will have to save your file in a
format those receiving it can open. (This is done by using the "Save As"
function.) If they have MS Word, save your file as a *.doc before sending it
to them.

These words are underlined with a wavy line because they are not in the
dictionaries files which OOo uses. When this happens, use the F7 key to open
the Spellcheck window. Then click the Help button. It will explain how to use
the Spellcheck feature.
