Greetings all!
I am experimenting with migration of an application from Access into
OpenOffice 2.0 on a Win2k Pro box. I have a number of queries that have
probably been discussed previously, so I am looking for pointers to
relevant archives / forums / issue numbers - though solutions would be
great!
a) I get some odb files on disc to grow dramatically and unexpectedly.
This happens if I edit a table definion when data is present - and
neither deleting the data nor the entire table will cause the file to
get smaller, even on save / exit the application.
b) Form wizard behaves strangely if I include date fields in the list of
items to place on the form.
c) Can I import & export data using csv format text files (or any other
ASCII flat file format) as I can with Access? Is SQL import data the
best or only way?
d) Can I extract table definitions as SQL statements that can be used to
recreate the tables under MySQL or PostgreSQL?
e) Is there an equivalent of the "load errors" file under Access to
receive lines of data that are rejected during a paste operation? How to
set one up?
