After some toiling around with the subject I've become rather
frustrated with my inability to find a way to straighten out the
language settings of my documents. The point is that I'm trying to set
the language for all text in a document to Dutch. The standard language
setting for the document is Dutch, but several imported pieces of text
seem to retain the English setting. So when spell checking it all
becomes rather tiresome, Dutch words are checked on English, however
fanatic I am trying to convince OO not to.
So how do I set the language on a certain area of text? Is it even
possible?
The language is a property of the text, either characters or style.
So the best is to go to the style of your text and change the language.
- F11
- Paragraph styles
- Standard
- Right-Click
- Change
- Font
- and Language.
Or you can have your own style and apply that to the text.
Or you can make yourself a personal defaul-template, with a.o. styles
with the proper language-settings.
However take in mind, that pasting text as is, might bring in different
style/character properties, thus a different language.
Can be prevented by Paste Special|Plain text.
Or select the text and choose Format|Default.
