I'm not Dave but .....
I am guessing that this not really an open office problem, if you are
using Apple mail, make sure you check the "windows friendly
Attachment" box when you select the file to send and, although they
probably do, make sure that your files have a .jpg extension
(filename.jpg).
Thanks

I am not sure I fully understand your question, so my apologies if
I get
it wrong.
Are you saying that you and your brother each have OOo
(OpenOffice.org)
installed on your computers and when you email him an OOo file format
document he cannot see any of the pictures you included in the
document?
If this is the case, it may be that you are "linking" the pictures
not
"embedding" them. Try opening one of the offending documents and
right
click on one the pictures, then select "Picture..." from the pop-up
menu. In the Picture dialog select the "Picture" tab and look to
see if
there is anything in the Link -> File Name edit box. If there is then
you have only put a link to the picture on your computer, not the
picture itself. The easiest solution is to select and delete the
pictures from the document, then insert them again, but this time
make
sure the "Link" checkbox (bottom left hand corner) of the "Insert
Picture" dialog is unchecked/clear.
Hope this helps
Dave
