Please do not top post, and please DO include enough of the message you
are replying to so that the context of the message is not totally lost.

This mailing list may have at times upwards of 10 independant
'conversations' going at any one time. Removal of the message being
replied to in its entirety can, and will cause all sorts of confusion.
Most mailing agents include the message in its entirety when you hit the
reply button, and any deletions are up to you. If your email agent
doesn't do that, then I'd suggest you change email agents, its
terminally daine bramaged.

The subject lines contents confirm that you are not subscribed, and
therefore may not have seen my previous reply to you which went to the
list only. If you had, you might have replied to it since I asked you
to please goto the help menu, and click on the 4th item down and tell
us what it shows. You did not, or chose to ignore the request.

Cosmi has apparently taken an OpenOffice release of a slightly earlier
version, removed any references to its copyright status external to the
archive on the cd itself, and apparently added this "contact manager'
package to the cd in an apparent attempt to add value to something that
can be downloaded for free in a newer, more stable version. And I
would certainly encourage you to do so because of bugfixes that have
been applied if for no other reason. It also will, if we are advised
of that, result in friendlier treatment by the all volunteer members of
this list if you are having problems with OpenOffice.

This somewhat questionable act might be flattering to the OpenOffice
effort, however its legality caused no little dicsussion here earlier.

Its resented here because the people are apparently encouraged to take
their Cosmi generated problems to a mailing list that has no connection
to Sun other than being hosted on a Sun machine, and is a 100%
volunteer group. No one here is collecting a salary from OpenOffice or
Sun.

Now, since this 'contact manager' you are refering to is not part of the
OpenOffice suite, then all we can do is tell you to take your contact
manager problems to Cosmi, the problems are not related to OpenOffice
in any way shape or form.

If one digs deep enough (see Google et all), there are probably contact
manager type programs available from several locations, downloadable
for free unless you are on a winderz box. From the headers of your
message, its not possible to tell if you are a windows user for sure,
but since aol doesn't support anything but windows that I'm aware of,
we draw our own conclusions, occasionally errant, but we do anyway...

Needless to say, we also recommend linux to those who are willing to
both learn, and to contribute what they've learned back to the linux
users in general.

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules. I do use spamassassin too. :-)
