Yes, I fully agree to that,
You can see what servicepack you have on MS products, and when OOo call
their "servicepacks" for release 2.0.1 or similar, why can“t you see
what number of the release you have, in the about box ??

Yep, I get 680m1[Build:8990]. I guess you mean that's 2.0.1, I couldn't
find 2.0.2 on the openoffice.org website. However I wonder why I have to
resort to the magical Ctrl-SDT. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to have the
full release number in the about box? Any idea why this isn't the case?
Thanks,
Nico

Sorry the build number is the clue. for 2.0.2 the build is
680m1[Build:8990] You can always check as follows as well:
look in <installation_directory>/program/version[rc|.ini]
This file shows the full version information.
Older builds, such as the 2.0 release, had this information within the
file
<installation_directory>/program/bootstrap[rc|.ini]

I wasn't the original poster, but I did try the Help suggested. As far as I
can tell, there is nothing using the method that tells me that I'm on 2.0.1
even though I'm quite sure I am. Help > About OpenOffice.org says I'm on 2.0.
Pressing the Ctrl S D T key sequence will then give the build number but
doesn't seem to give the version number.

Hi,
quick question: how can I check which exact version of OpenOffice I'm
running. I tried clicking on About but I get OpenOffice 2.0. Is this
2.0.0 or could it also be 2.0.1? How can I make sure which one it is?
