[users] control key

When I try to use thecontrol key to select more then one cell to work in, it 
will not work.Like I want to select a certin color or place certin words in say 
cells 1,3,5,8,10, I select the nimber 1 cell and then hold the control key to 
select the other cells and it don't work.
