Hello WSP
Many thanks for replying to my problem.
The function works OK in the simple example of course. I had a little problem
with the list that gave rise to my query. This was a long list of personal
names that I had imported from another source. Using this same list in 1-2-3 I
find the function works perfectly. By copying the list from 1-2-3 and pasting
in OO it also works OK. So I have solved the problem, but without an
explanation. The only difference between the two lists is that the original
pasting in OO shows a little black triangle on the left of each cell, that I
haven't a clue what it signifies!! and cant find anything on this in Help,
FAQ's,etc
