Hail,
Any idea as to how one would search for any (as opposed to a
specific character) colored (other than the intended) text?
Searching for any text of a specific color is easy but I would like
to find any text that is not black.

Hi Rick,

There are details in the knowledgebase at http:// mindmeld.cybersite.com.au that shows how to do such a search. You can do it using the Find&Replace tool in OOo.

Hi Rick,

Sorry, I jumped in ahead and thought you were searching for a specific colour in your text. The simplest way I would see it (if it is possible, have not checked this yet) is to find the main text colour, then inverse the selection. Can OOo inverse
its selection? I will have to check that one :)

OK. Now that I have had a chance to look at OOo and see how it is done, it is actually quite simple. Assuming that the default text is NOT what you want selected, then go to Find&Replace, click on "More Options" and then choose the "Attributes" button. In the list that appears, select the "Font Color" option and then simply hit "Find All" to have all the non-default text selected.

Regards
Jonathon
