I thought I knew how to do this, but I couldn't get it to work in 1.5
for Linux.
What I tried (in a footer) Insert->Fields->Other->Page
This has a field called offset, but that didn't do it. If you search
the archives for this list, I know this has been answered before.

Hi to all,
looks like I still don't know how to post properly.
Howard pointed out to me that it is the wrong way to
just delete details from a thread and start a new one.
Sorry about that. I'll try to do better in future.
This was my previous posting:
A Writer document I am editing starts with page 7.
Using Insert/fields/page number always reverts to 7.
I have downloaded many pages of help text form Open
Office .org, but either they refer to earlier versions or
don't work as described. I have OOo v.2.0
How can I get it to start at 1?
How can I get it to start at a number in the hundreds
as part of previous chapters..?
