[users] "@~" In table of figures

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to open up a Word document and every time I open it, the  
table of Figures appends "@~" to the end of every page number. It  
looks like this:

Figure [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Figure [EMAIL PROTECTED]
etc,etc

Is there any way to get it not to display those? When I try to update  
the table, it still puts the @~'s in.
