Hi Cor,
yes, that really works.. Funny thing, I'm
sure that was one of the methodes I tried first, on
advice from the 'users'. At that time I obviously did
not correctly fill in all the other fields. That's how I ended up with a starting 7, which just could not be removed elsewhere. There are 13 separate segments to the whole document, some of which
completely lost page numbering during the transfer
from Mac to Mac(Word) to OOo. I believe there
were also a number of people spending time entering
data, all doing it their own way as regards to for-
matting etc. One thing is sure, someone will have to
take stock of the many features in OOo and do
some culling, otherwise it becomes a monster no
one will be able to fully use.
And a last note: Why is there no Regular Expression
for a paragraph break? The listing gives one for
a line feed (Shift/Enter) but not for a paragraph.

Max. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cor Nouws" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Max,

Hi Cor, perhaps you can give a step by step info as to
implement your methode,

Ok Max,

a) place the cursor at the beginning of the document at which the page number has to be changed
b) choose Format|Paragraph
c) select tab Text Flow
d) in section Breaks,
 - check Insert
 - choose Type Page
 - check With page Style
- choose style Default (unless you want to switch to another page style, for example landscape)
 - Position Before is OK
 - now set the Page number

This can be repeated on every page, in case you would like to do so ;-)

Note that the status bar at bottom left, displays the page numer as you set it, and furthermore the numer of actual pages in the document.

HTH,
greetings,
Cor
