I have a file -- non-standard mathematics and text -- with text slightly
corrupted by OCR, and mathematics more severely corrupted. I have spent
a number of hours editing it, mainly in OpenOffice 2.0.
Last night, after I had worked on it most of the day, I saved the file
in two places on my computer and emailed a copy to a collaborator (as an
attachment).
Today when I tried to bring up this file again (and do further work on
it) I got an error message -- "Read error -- file format error at 2068,7
(row, col)". I got that error message referring to both the copies I had
saved on my computer.
The OpenOffice Writer program would not / could not open the file.
My question: Does OpenOffice 2.0 include utilities with which I could
repair the error (and then go on working on the file)?
