I don't have an answer to the question, I just wanted to add that OOo 2.0
is probably not what you want on a 233 MHz 256 MB machine. I have a Dell
450 MHz 256 MB and I tried OOo 2.0 once. It was so slow that I... well,
actually there are no words for it (no nice words anyway). I just
uninstalled and continued to use OOo 1.1.5 which is very slow too, but at
least something happens the same day I as I push a button or do a mouse
click... I will certainly give OOo 2.0 a new try when I buy a new
computer, but until then OOo 1.1.5 is the only thing I can stand.
However, if you solve your problem and OOo 2.0 proves to be fast on your
PC, I would like to know since that probably means that something is
seriously wrong with my PC... but on the other hand most of the other
software on my machine works fast and smooth. A couple of years ago I used
MS Office 2000 on the same machine and it was a lot faster than OOo, which
worries me a bit... =( But I hated every other aspect of it, so OOo is
the way to go, at least for me.
Not much of a help, more than I would suggest you to try OOo 1.1.5
instead... Maybe not what you wanted to hear and maybe someone will tell
me I'm wrong...
