Strange that the first mail bounced. I would suggest however that for
the purposes of posting to this (and others) that you use plan text
emails...

As to your question, most of what your asking can be found in the users guide :
documentation.openoffice.org

It has lots of useful information about OOo and how it can be used.
There are also books that can be broughts - search amazon.com for
these.
