I downloaded and ran the Windows Installer 2.0 for Windows 98 and was
informed that the "specified service already exists"

I don't know how to watch for folding.

Have you updated MSI on your system? I found one upgrade and there are
likely more at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=CEBBACD8-C094-4255-B702-DE3BB768148F
and watch for folding.
