Have you ever opened this XML form later, clicked the design form button,
and then tried to make changes in the form itself but not the entries? I'm
thinking that with the design form active (on) you should be able to make
changes in the form including correcting spelling errors. As you noticed, you
can not fill in any of the fields of the form. When the design form button is
not active (off), you should be able to fill in the fields of the form but no
changes can be made in the form itself.
