I installed OpenOffice 2.0 on my RHEL 4 system from RPMs. I removed the 1.1 RPMs first. I wanted the new installation in the /usr/local directory, so I did:
$ rpm -Uvh --prefix /usr/local/openoffice *.rpm and then: $ cd RPMS/desktop-integration/ $ rpm -Uvh --prefix /usr/local/openoffice openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.0.0-3.noarch.rpm There were no error messages. However, when I attempt to launch OpenOffice from the menu system (I'm using Gnome), nothing happens.
