or the instructions you get by clicking the mailing list on the left of
http://www.openoffice.org/about_us/new.html do not work for you?

Okay, the first page you list gets me what I want. I needed to know the
name of the newsgroup that corresponds to this list. I was looking for
one named similarly to this one (i.e. with "users" in it somewhere, and
in English). Since the actual newsgroup name is
"gmane.comp.openoffice.questions", it wasn't intuitive, and I didn't
remember where to look for the newsgroup name.
