[users] linux install of 2.0.1 has failed miserably

i already had 2.0.0 installed.  (it was working fine, why did i try to
upgrade? silly me)
i downloaded/untarred.
as root, rpm -Uivh as the install web page directed.
 
now soffice is nowhere to be found!!  find . -name soffice finds the old
2.0.0 version.  starting soffice from the old location indicates that it
is truly 2.0.0 .  if i exclude the 2.0.0 version the find will find no
other soffice. 
 
executing the rpm install again, says that the rpms are completely
installed.
 
now what??
