P.S. How can I get two OO windows running top and bottom on my screen? I have a toolbar button in Word 2000 that allows me to see two different files (for translating purposes), but I haven't found a similar button yet in OO.
You cannot do this through OOo directly, but you can do it via the Windows operating system.
Either close or minimize all windows except the ones you want to tile on the screen.
Using the right mouse button, click on a blank spot on the Windows taskbar or system tray to obtain a context menu. Select either "Tile Windows Horizontally" or "Tile Windows Vertically". Any non-minimized windows will be tiled accordingly to your selection.
Also, if you open more than one window in OpenOffice, in Windows XP it usually combines them in a group under an icon on the taskbar. If you right click that icon and it includes more than one window, the items "Tile Horizontally" and "Tile Vertically" are available to be selected. Any windows belonging to the group will be tiled as requested, regardless of other windows that are open.
