Seems I had this problem a month or so ago. Now I've reinstalled my

The Thesaurus on the Toolbar is greyed dout.
In the Tools>Options>Language Settings> Writing Aids All I have is the
Spellchecker.
When I hit Edit, It shows Spellchecker, Thesaurus, and Hyphenation,
but only the Spellcheck has a check box.
I've just come from searching the archives to find out what went on
the last time, but I can't find anything recent with Thesaurus in the
subject, at least, not anything that's of any help.
I'm using OO2.0 on Ubuntu.
Thanks,
In reading on the net, it seems the Ubuntu version was released without
a Thesaurus.
Last night I downloaded the "official" version, ran the RPMs through
alien, and set it up. Thesaurus is there.
That seems a bit drastic. I would think that File > Wizard > Install new
dictionaries would be more efficient.
So where were you when I posted my first post? :-)
Further talking to the Ubuntu list confirms that, yes, the Thesaurus is
missing. Suggestion was made that the Thesaurus was available from the
Debian Repository list, but since it (the Debian one) refers to a
different version number (2.0 instead of 1.9, IIRC) and so therefore it
could cause problems.
It was much easier to download OpenOffice 2.0.1 from the Official site,
run it through alien, and away I go.
Thanks,
