I'm wondering if Quickstarter isn't in the startup folder twice. I had
that happen and it did exactly what' he's describing.

Hi I just installed openoffice for the first time & love it. One

apps until i tell it to.
How do I do this?
If you are using windows, open OOo (OpenOffice.org) from the
quickstarter just
to the left of your computer clock. Right click it and choose the app
you
want to use. Doing this will allow you to even open a specific OOo
file as
your starting point. You can also select a particular Template to
open as
well. Check out the possibilities that are available with the
Quickstarter
icon.

So what was the answer to his question? As far as I understand it,
Writer opens everytime he starts up his computer, wether he wants it
or not. How does he prevent this to happen?
If I understand the whole thing right, the following is happening when
he starts up his computer:
1. The computer is powered on.
2. Some things happens, not important in this issue.
3. Operating system (Windows?) loads.
4. A lot of stuff loads, not important for this issue.
5. OOo Quickstarter loads automatically.
6. OOo Writer loads automatically.
And finally, if I understand the question right, he only wants the
first 5 steps to happen when he starts his computer. Writer should not
load automatically, it should only load when he tells it to load, like
when opening a Writer document or clicking the Writer icon in the
quickstarter menu.
I am sorry to say that I can't answer the question, but if it happened
to me and the operating system is Windows, I would first of all check
the Autostart folder (Start => Programs => Autostart) and then the
Autostart tab at Start => Programs => Accessories => System tools =>
System configuration, or something like that; I use Windows 98 in
Swedish så I just translated the best I could, hope this helps but it
feels like it doesn't... Maybe someone else has the answer.
