Is there a version of Open Office which will work on older iMacs (with Mac OS 8.1, for example), and is it available on your website? I am using Neo-Office on my newer Mac, and it is working so well that I would like to have it on my older machine as well.
I'll add a 'me too' post to the recommendations that you try out Linux on your iMac.

I picked up a G3 Powermac ( 350Mhz beast ) really cheap on Ebay. I hadn't used OS 8 before, but when I saw it, I started to wonder if I'd made the right decision. I first tried OS-X ( Tiger ). It crawled. It was completely unusable. However after installing Gentoo Linux on it, I was absolutely astonished. There's really no better way of giving your aging Mac a new lease on life :) It runs very fast, and you're not stuck to using aging applications.
