However, as understand it, the file was originally in 1.x .sxc format and has now been saved in 2.x .ods format. OOo does not overwrite .sxc files when saved in .ods format, in which case you should still be able to open the original .sxc file. OK you will still have to redo changes from your last edit, but it is not a total loss. When you save after this edit use the "Save As..." option, making sure that the password option is not checked/ticked. Hope this helps.
