First of all, it'snot my software or "our" software. We, at least most of
us, are only ordinary users who help each other with different kinds of
problems. Some of us know a lot and some of us are beginners and most of
us are, I presume, somewhere in between...
Maybe there is a better answer to your question, but the only converter I
know of is only available "inside" the different applications, in this
case OpenOffice Writer. So my guess is that you have to download the whole
office package, then install at least Writer, open your word document with
it, and then export it to PDF. As far as I know you can not only install
the PDF export tool, but maybe there are other software out there that can
do that.
I know that there are some programs (freeware) that are able to act as a
printer. You just open the document in Word and print it out. Instead of
selecting your ordinary printer, you will se another one in your printer
list which is a virtual one that creates PDF files out of whatever you
want, doesn't have to be a Word document. Can be used by any program that
can use a printer. Unfortunately I can't remember what any of those
programs are called, but a google search will hopefully lead you in the
right direction.
