I suggest you try a download manager that can be restarted. While not
on the page you get to by clicking the graphic on www.openoffice.org to
download, the download does offer some more info. I have pasted it here
for you:

        Download Managers There are several download managers that
        enable you to resume downloading after an interruption. Most of
        these are for Windows. For a general survey of the best download
        managers, go to:

* http://www.safer-networking.org/en/articles/download-managers.html

        See also:

              * Free Download Manager
              * Downloader for X
              * GetRight
              * Go!Zilla
              * Download Accelerator Plus
              * NetAnts
              * ProZilla (Linux)
              *
              *

As to the various modules, these are an install time option. As an
integrated suite, OOo has a largish core and small modules that do not
work without the core. Savings by eliminating modules is not, in my
opinion, worth the extra work for the little space savings one gets. To
put this in perspective MSO is about the same size if not bigger.

There is a project, http://distribution.openoffice.org/sets/ , whose
work will eventually result in small packages that can be downloaded bit
by bit and reconstituted at the receiving end. If you look you will see
some experimental files that attaempt to do this.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the link to the article. I have a great respect for Patrick Kolla. But I was surprised to see Go!Zilla in your list. I've removed that and eZula from more than one machine when sorting out spyware problems for people who have been running their original antivirus for three years without updating, or even running on broadband for two years with NO antivirus at all!
